Most Asked First
The questions people need answered before booking.
Start here when you need the practical basics: payment, location, appointment type, and the correct first step.
Do you take insurance?
Lightning VIP is a cash-based practice, which allows for a more direct and personalized care experience without the limitations of a traditional insurance-based model. Labs, medications, imaging, or outside services may have separate costs depending on what is recommended.
What states do you serve?
Lightning VIP’s medical services currently operate in Nevada only. Non-medical health coaching is available nationwide.
What is the first step for medical care?
For medical care, start on our Get Started page, where you’ll sign your consent form.
Next, you’ll choose the right lab panel, so your results are ready before your first appointment. That way, Dr. Lightning can review your labs, symptoms, history, and goals together and make the most of your first visit.
For health coaching, speaking, media, or organization requests, use the correct inquiry path so the request can be routed properly.
Can I talk to someone before I sign up?
Yes. For general questions, book a call with our patient care coordinator. She can answer most questions about how care works, which path fits you, and what to expect.
If you would like to speak with the clinician before making any purchases, please start with the coordinator call first. If you still want to speak with the clinician after that call, we can book a non-treating consult with the clinician: 15 minutes for $150.
Are visits virtual or in person?
Lightning VIP offers both telehealth and in-person care, depending on the service, the patient’s needs, and what is clinically appropriate. Many visits can be handled virtually, while some concerns may require in-person care or follow-up.
Membership & Payment
Care that doesn’t stop when the visit ends.
Lightning VIP is built on membership, not transactions. Here is what that means for you.
Why is Lightning VIP membership-based?
Traditional healthcare is built on transactions. Practices are paid for each sick visit, so the system’s incentives favor treating illness over preventing it.
Lightning VIP is built on Continuous Care, which reverses that incentive. Your membership supports your care whether you’re sick or well, so our success is measured by one thing: how healthy you are. Every lab review, reminder, and check-in is designed to keep you thriving and out of crisis.
What does my membership actually pay for?
Think of it like a gym membership. You don’t pay a gym per workout; you pay to belong, and access is there whenever you need it. Your membership works the same way. It isn’t payment for appointments. It’s your place in the practice and your access to care.
You might not need to see us at all one month and see us three times the next. Your membership stays the same, because your care continues either way.
Even when you’re not in the office, Continuous Care is working for you:
- A provider on standby: you can call, message, or send a question when something comes up.
- Ongoing monitoring: we track your labs and progress and flag what needs attention.
- Proactive outreach: reminders, check-ins, and follow-up links keep your plan on track.
- Behind-the-scenes infrastructure: the clinical systems and data that make proactive care possible.
Your membership reflects the level of care your health requires, not the minutes you spend in a chair.
What is the $200 reactivation fee?
Memberships are billed automatically each month. If a payment fails, you have a 7-day grace period to update it. After that, your membership is discharged for non-payment, as outlined in your membership agreement.
To rejoin, you pay a $200 reactivation fee plus your upcoming month. Any outstanding balance from your previous membership is waived; the reactivation fee replaces it.
This fee protects the membership model for everyone. Stopping payments and restarting only when care is needed turns membership into pay-per-visit care, and Continuous Care only works when it’s continuous. See our Payment & Membership Policy for full details.
Medical Care
Patient care questions with practical answers.
These answers apply to people seeking medical care through Lightning VIP as patients.
What if I am a returning patient?
If you are returning after a gap in care, updated forms, agreements, or re-enrollment steps may be required depending on the service you are re-entering. Start on our Get Started page to sign your updated consent, then choose the lab panel that fits so your results are ready for your appointment.
If your membership ended for non-payment, see What is the $200 reactivation fee? above.
What is the difference between primary care and functional medicine?
Primary care focuses on diagnosis, treatment, chronic condition management, medication review, preventive care, screenings, urgent concerns, and routine medical support.
Functional medicine is a separate root-cause approach that goes deeper into patterns involving hormones, metabolism, gut health, inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, stress, and long-term optimization. These services are separate and may be booked and billed separately.
Do I need labs first?
Yes, in most cases. After you sign your consent form on our Get Started page, you’ll choose a lab panel so your results are ready before your first appointment. That lets Dr. Lightning make the most of your visit.
Some patients need a straightforward panel, while others need deeper testing to understand what is driving their symptoms. If you’re not sure which panel fits, our patient care coordinator can help you choose.
Are primary care memberships always available?
Membership availability may vary. If enrollment is limited or currently full, the office can guide you toward the most appropriate next step when you inquire. The clearest move is still to start on our Get Started page so your needs can be reviewed properly.
Can I book only for weight, hormones, or functional concerns?
Yes. Many patients come in with a focused concern such as weight, hormones, energy, gut health, inflammation, or metabolic support. The appointment helps determine whether that concern belongs under primary care, functional medicine, a focused service path, or another recommendation.
Coaching & Speaking
Non-medical support and requests that need the right form.
These offerings are connected to Lightning VIP, but they are not the same as booking patient medical care.
Is health coaching medical care?
No. Health coaching is a non-medical support service focused on behavior change, lifestyle strategies, habits, supplements, and natural wellness follow-through. It does not replace diagnosis, treatment, or prescription-based medical care.
How does health coaching begin?
Coaching begins through the coaching interest form, not through a medical appointment. That helps determine fit, state, goals, and whether coaching is the right path or whether another service should come first.
How do I book Dr. Lightning for speaking?
Speaking engagements are handled through the speaking inquiry form. That is the best place to share your organization, event type, audience, date, and goals so availability and fit can be reviewed correctly.
Do you offer primary care support for businesses or corporate partners?
Yes. Lightning VIP can explore primary care partnership options for select businesses, executive teams, and corporate partners who want a more direct path to routine medical care, follow-up, preventive support, and continuity for the people they are responsible for.
This is not the same as a speaking request. It is a conversation about primary care access and an ongoing care relationship for an organization or partner group.
Important Notes
A few boundaries that protect the care process.
The FAQ should make the next step easier, but it should not replace clinical review, emergency care, or direct communication with the office.
i
Urgent symptoms
Do not use the website, inquiry form, or FAQ page for emergencies. For urgent symptoms or emergencies, seek immediate medical care.
ii
Personalized advice
General website information cannot diagnose, treat, or replace an appointment. Personalized recommendations require proper clinical review.
iii
Best next step
Medical care begins on our Get Started page, followed by labs and your first appointment. Coaching, speaking, media, and organization requests should use their appropriate inquiry paths.
