Weight Loss

Medically guided weight care.

Weight support at Lightning VIP

A $99/month membership with medication management included — plus optional CGM, coaching, and transparent self-pay GLP-1 packages. Provider-led, accountability-built, and designed for long-term success rather than crash protocols.

Medical services currently operate in Nevada only. Health coaching is available nationwide.

Our Approach

Medication is a tool, not a strategy.

GLP-1 medications can work well, but they work best when paired with provider oversight, real-time metabolic feedback, and the accountability that helps the weight stay off after the medication ends.

i

Provider-Led

Every program is overseen by a doctoral-prepared, board-certified Nurse Practitioner. Medications are prescribed based on your clinical picture — not a checkbox intake form.

ii

Built-In Accountability

The optional coaching component includes accountability check-ins and food diary review — for patients who want structure beyond just the prescription.

iii

Transparent Pricing

Membership is $99/month. GLP-1 packages have clearly tiered pricing with shipping options shown upfront. No surprise bills, no escalating fees.

Is This Right For You?

Who Fits This Model

Medical weight loss is a clinical commitment — not a quick fix. Here is who tends to do well in this model and who may need a different starting point.

This is likely a fit if you…

  • Want provider-led care rather than a checkbox telehealth intake.
  • Are open to medication as one tool alongside coaching and accountability.
  • Value transparent pricing and predictable monthly investment.
  • Want the option to use CGM and coaching, but do not want to be forced into either.
  • Are committed to long-term success rather than crash protocols.

This may not be the right fit if you…

  • Want medication prescribed without provider interaction or labs.
  • Are looking for a one-time quick fix with no follow-up.
  • Have medical needs that require specialist-level weight management, bariatric care, or eating disorder treatment.
  • Are unwilling to discuss diet, activity, or lifestyle alongside medication.

Already in Functional Medicine?

The Functional Medicine Upgrade

If you are already enrolled in a Lightning VIP functional medicine program — either a monthly membership or an Intensive — weight loss medication management is already part of your care. You do not need to add the $99/month Core Membership on top.

Already Included in FM

Prescription weight loss medications — Contrave, Qsymia, Phentermine, Topamax, name-brand Wegovy, Zepbound and other clinically appropriate options — are managed as part of functional medicine care at no additional Lightning VIP program cost.

Your provider is already looking at upstream drivers like metabolic health, hormones, and gut function. Medication costs from the pharmacy remain your responsibility through insurance or cash pay.

Still Billed Separately

Compounded GLP-1 packages remain separate because the medication itself is the cost. CGM and structured coaching are also separate add-ons when specifically requested.

The standalone $99/month Core Membership is for patients who want focused medication management without the broader functional medicine workup — and who want the option to add CGM and coaching.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

What is the difference between compounded and name-brand GLP-1s?

Name-brand GLP-1s — Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro — are FDA-approved medications manufactured by pharmaceutical companies. They are typically the most expensive route and often require prior authorization through insurance. The $99/month membership includes prescription management for these.

Compounded GLP-1s — semaglutide and tirzepatide compounded by licensed pharmacies — contain the same active ingredients as the name-brand versions, but at significantly lower cash-pay prices. Compounded versions are billed separately as part of the 12-week packages or maintenance tiers.

Your provider will help you decide which route fits your insurance coverage, budget, and clinical situation.

What does coaching actually include?

The coaching component is opt-in and includes scheduled accountability check-ins and food diary review. It is structured for patients who want active support — but you can opt out completely and still get the full membership benefits.

Coaching is not therapy or eating disorder treatment. Patients who need specialist-level care for those concerns will be referred appropriately.

What is CGM and why is it included?

CGM stands for Continuous Glucose Monitor — a small sensor worn on the arm that tracks blood sugar in real time. For weight loss patients, CGM can show how the body responds to specific foods, sleep, stress, and exercise.

CGM is included as an initial opt-in benefit at the start of your program, typically the first sensor or two, to give real-time feedback during the most important phase.

Do you accept insurance for weight loss?

The Core Membership and compounded GLP-1 packages are cash-pay services. Insurance does not cover the depth of care and time required to do weight loss properly.

Name-brand medications may be covered through insurance with prior authorization, and prior authorization support is included in your membership when clinically appropriate.

What happens when I stop the medication?

Results last best when the behavior changes do. GLP-1s work in part by reducing appetite and slowing gastric emptying. When they are stopped, those effects fade.

Patients who use the medication window to build sustainable food, sleep, and movement patterns often keep results better than those who rely on medication alone. Some patients transition to lower-dose GLP-1 maintenance.

How fast will I see results?

Most patients see meaningful weight loss within the first 4–8 weeks of starting a GLP-1 protocol. The first month is often dose titration — gradually increasing to find the right level with minimal side effects.

Total weight loss varies by starting weight, dose tier, adherence to lifestyle changes, and individual response.

What if I am already in functional medicine — do I need this membership too?

Usually not. Functional medicine already includes weight loss medication management with no extra program fee for the management itself.

The exceptions are compounded GLP-1 packages, because those are medication costs, and the CGM + structured coaching add-ons, which are what the $99/month Core Membership specifically exists for.

What about hormones — do those interact with weight loss?

Yes, significantly — particularly for perimenopausal and postmenopausal women, and men with low testosterone. Hormones are often an unaddressed variable driving weight gain and slow metabolism.

If hormones are a meaningful part of your picture, your provider may recommend addressing both — either through hormone support or functional medicine.
