Concierge Hormone Optimization
Hormone optimization, simplified.
What Hormone Optimization Means Here
Not just replacement.
Hormone optimization is not about chasing a single lab number. It is about restoring the patterns that make you feel like yourself again with lab-guided dosing, scheduled monitoring, and a provider who treats hormones as one part of a larger optimization picture.
i
Lab-Guided, Not Guesswork
Every program begins with comprehensive hormone labs and clinical assessment. Dosing is adjusted based on what your labs and symptoms are actually telling us — not a one-size protocol.
ii
Cofactors, Not Just Hormones
Hormones do not work in a vacuum. We evaluate and recommend the cofactors your body needs to use those hormones properly, including Vitamin D, B12, zinc, magnesium, and other supportive nutrients identified by your labs.
iii
One Provider, Full Picture
The same doctoral-prepared, board-certified Nurse Practitioner who manages your hormones can also see how they interact with your gut health, metabolism, weight, and primary care through other Lightning VIP programs if needed.

Is This Right For You?
Who Fits This Model
Hormone optimization is a long-term commitment — not a one-time fix. Here is who tends to do well in this model and who may be better served by a different approach.
Likely Fit
Hormone optimization is likely a fit if you…
- Are experiencing low energy, mood changes, low libido, sleep issues, or other symptoms consistent with hormone imbalance.
- Want lab-guided dosing rather than one-size protocols.
- Are committed to ongoing monitoring and adjustment over months and years.
- Prefer predictable monthly pricing over large per-procedure costs.
- Value one provider who sees the full picture of your health.
May Need Another Path
This may not be the right fit if you…
- Are looking for a one-time prescription with no ongoing monitoring.
- Want hormone therapy without lab work or follow-up visits.
- Need urgent crisis-level intervention rather than optimization.
- Are pregnant, trying to conceive, or have hormone-sensitive conditions needing specialist-level care.
- Are seeking gender-affirming hormone therapy. Lightning VIP does not provide this service.
Already in Functional Medicine?
The Functional Medicine Upgrade
If you are already enrolled in a Lightning VIP functional medicine program, your provider is already managing the hormone side of your care. Whether you need a dedicated hormone membership depends on which FM program you are in.
FM Intensives
The 3-Month and 6-Month Intensive programs include hormone replacement therapy when clinically indicated — both the management and the medication cost are part of the program. No separate hormone membership is needed.
Pellet procedures are separate. Patients who specifically want pellets still pay the procedure cost or enroll in a pellet membership for predictable cadence.
FM Monthly Memberships
Essential and Elite memberships include hormone prescription and management at no extra program cost. The medication cost remains the patient’s responsibility, and pellet procedures remain billed separately.
The standalone hormone programs are for patients whose primary concern is hormones and who do not need the broader functional medicine workup.
Pairs With
Also Pairs With Direct Primary Care
Hormone optimization handles a specific lane. Your day-to-day primary care — sick visits, preventive screening, chronic condition management — is a separate need that Lightning Prime DPC handles naturally alongside your hormone work.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked
How do I know which program is right for me?
That is exactly what the Discovery Consultation is for. You will bring recent labs or order them through Lightning VIP, discuss symptoms and goals, and your provider will recommend the program that matches your clinical picture.
In general, T2U works well for men who want an all-inclusive, low-touch testosterone program. Pellet memberships work well for patients who prefer steady-state pellet delivery and predictable monthly pricing. The Hormone Optimization Program is the most flexible option for creams, injectables, or other hormone routes.
Why is the initial pellet procedure paid upfront?
The pellet procedure itself has a real cost — pellets, procedure time, and supplies. Rolling that cost into a low monthly fee from day one would make the monthly membership less sustainable.
Separating the initial procedure keeps the monthly pricing predictable after the first procedure is complete. From that point forward, scheduled pellet sessions are included at the fixed cadence.
Can I switch programs later?
Yes. Some patients begin with T2U or the Hormone Optimization Program and later move into pellets once levels are stable. Others transition out of pellets into another route. Your provider will help you move when it makes clinical sense.
Do you accept insurance for hormone optimization?
Hormone memberships and pellet procedures are cash-pay services. Insurance does not cover the depth of monitoring and provider time required for optimization work, and most plans do not cover compounded or pellet hormones.
Some medications and labs may still be billable through insurance depending on your plan. PPO plans typically offer more flexibility than HMO plans.
How fast will I feel a difference?
Most patients begin noticing changes within 2–6 weeks of starting therapy, usually improved energy, sleep, mood, or libido. Lab markers usually shift meaningfully by the 3-month follow-up window.
Full optimization — getting dosing dialed in, feeling consistent, and seeing deeper changes — typically takes 6 months or more of consistent work.
What happens if I want to stop hormone therapy?
You can stop at any time. Memberships are ongoing month-to-month commitments. Your provider will discuss what stopping looks like, including whether a taper is needed, and help you make that transition safely.
What if I am already in functional medicine — do I need a hormone membership too?
Usually not. Functional medicine already includes hormone management as part of the program when clinically indicated.
The exceptions are pellets, because the procedure cost is separate either way, and T2U, because that all-inclusive structure is specifically for testosterone-focused care. Your provider will help you decide what makes sense for your situation.
